Joseph Chan

Associate Director, Centre for Asian Entrepreneurship and Business Values, University of Hong Kong

Joseph Chan is the Associate Director of Centre for Asian Entrepreneurship and Business Value, and is leading the ‘Entrepreneurship, Design and Innovation’ programme at HKU Business School – a programme that inspires students across different levels and disciplines to be creative. Joseph has also been driving and involved in a series of SDGs and rural revitalization in China research and education programme as well as conducting executive training for education leaders and seasoned entrepreneurs from HK, Mainland and overseas.

Joseph’s expertise is on design thinking, digital economy and cross-disciplinary innovation strategy. He is the co-author of the case study: ‘Road to Stakeholder-centric, Insight-driven Innovation’. His professional background is architecture – and he has translated the design skills to a wide range of user-centric project solving approaches. He has been involved in a number of smart city, architecture and technology-innovation projects in Europe, Middle East and China including the ‘Innovative Design and Smart Construction for Schools’ in HK. He has also been supporting HK Jockey Club to lead research on impact measurement on the programme ‘Innopower for teacher fellows’ in HK.
